How did this happen? Is it broken or just cracked? You are usually responsible for this repair. We will charge you for any work we have to do. If it was an accident, you may be able to claim on your home contents insurance. See Moving in in your tenancy book.

What size of pane is it? Is it double-glazed?

Is it clear, patterned or wired glass?

Putty or beading around glass crumbly or missing

Which window or door is it? How much is affected?

Is the frame made of metal or wood?

If beading, is it wooden, rubber or plastic?

Window sticking, jammed, rotten or damaged

Which window is it? Are the hinges broken?

Is it a hinged (casement), sliding or pivot window?

Is the frame made of wood, metal or plastic?

Do you know what is causing the problem?

Cill or ledge broken or rotten (outside)

Which window is it? Which storey is it on?

Is it wooden, concrete, tiled or plastic?

Catch, stay or fastener broken or not working

Which window is it? What type of catch, stay or fastener is it?

Lost window keys

Which window is it? Is it locked or unlocked at the moment?

Which window is it? Is the draught coming through between the frame and the wall, or between the window and the frame?
